Not quite sure what to say here, as some of you may be aware I used to use this platform almost on a daily basis back in 2018 where I reviewed every movie I watched that year racking up a total of 270 reviews. Then the turn of the year happened and everything became crazy and I was in no position to watch anywhere near as many movies as before not to mention spend the time to review each movie too. I tried making a comeback in April 2019 but I became overwhelmed with workload and my home life that I ended up deleting the WordPress app and almost forgetting about this whole project.
However something strange happened today, both my wife and I thought about my blog for the first time in what feels like forever and maybe, just maybe I thought I might give it another crack and see what I can produce here. I’m not going to make any promises with what I’m going to post and how often just that I will try and drop by occasionally with a movie review here and there and maybe some more top 5 lists and I might just even have a ramble about life in general, who knows?
I don’t think I need to explain what’s been going on with my life last year but I’ll at least give you guys a brief insight to how busy I was last year and why I knocked this project on its head. So at the beginning of 2019 my wife and I moved house which was stressful enough in itself and then we had a lot of appointments to attend, plus my work was getting really busy so to find time to watch a movie and review it became hard as I just wanted to spend my spare time sleeping. Then, I lost my main source of watching movies which was on the train to and from work as I started to learn to drive, passed my test, bought a car and changed my commute to work. Shortly after that my wife gave birth to our daughter which was the best moment of my life but that pretty much meant zero free time to spend watching movies with all the nappy changing, bottle sterilising, baby feeding and everything else that comes with being a parent which is by far the hardest job I will ever have but certainly the most rewarding. Since then I’ve had limited chances to watch anything but I try to when I have any spare time, utilising subtitles a lot more to avoid waking up the sweet baby.
I’ll finish off by letting you know what’s to come in the immediate future as I went to the cinema last night with an old friend and watched Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn so either tomorrow or Friday I will post my opinions of it which are fairly mixed to say the least. So until next time, I’ll see you around and thanks for taking the time out of your day to read my words.
